Aptos: The rising layer-1 blockchain
Aptos is a layer-1 blockchain that is based on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. Aptos is a continuation of an abandoned project of Meta, Diem blockchain. After that, the former Meta developers gathered afterwards to work together.
Out of the ashes of the failed project, the developers united and built a new blockchain that aims to address the security concerns of the newer-generation blockchains. The team claims that they are working on the “most secure blockchain in the world” with one of the highest scalability levels in the sector.
Usually, public blockchains have to trade security off for improved transaction speed and scalability. Thus, Aptos’s goal is significant to billions of users in the crypto world. Aptos has a shot to become a top Layer 1 blockchain if it can accomplish this and address the significant security issues that have plagued previous networks that are PoS-based.
In March 2022, Aptos successfully raised capital from a group of famous VC funds such as a16z Crypto, Multicoin Capital, Hashed, Tiger Global, Three Arrows Capital, FTX Ventures, and Coinbase Ventures for a total amount of 200 million dollars. After that, in June, Aptos completed series A with 150 million dollars in investments from FTX Ventures and Jump Crypto.
Aptos mainnet has just gone live, on October 19th. Users who participated in tesnet would get airdrop of 150 APT or 300 APT, equivalent to 1.200 dollars and 2.400 dollars at current price. This can be considered one of the most valuable airdrops ever.

Aptos has become a household name in the last two weeks as the project airdropped to more than 110,000 wallet addresses. With a good reputation, the number of users will increase rapidly in the near future. However, since it is a newborn blockchain that has just launched the mainnet, there is a lack of dApps that are capable of tracking this type of digital asset.
