Our blockchain “roster” has successfully “recruited” another valuable member: Celo. Celo is a blockchain that has a healthy ecosystem and friendly environment for financial and mobile applications based on the CELO token and its stablecoin, Celo Dollar (CUSD).

What is Celo?
The goal of the worldwide platform Celo is to integrate the cryptocurrency ecosystem for every smartphone user on the planet. It can be said in a simple way that Celo wants to make cryptocurrency transactions accessible to the billions of smartphone users worldwide, even those without access to banking services, by using phone numbers as public keys.
Along with making basic payments available, Celo has made it a priority to encourage the creation of Dapps, or decentralized applications, on its blockchain. These dApps on Celo have allowed everyone to donate to a community’s universal basic income program as well as a crowdfunding platform for social purposes since the beginning.
Even users who don’t have the Celo app still can send the platform’s stablecoin, CUSD. Users can also send money via WhatsApp. However, receivers would eventually need to download the program in order to obtain this value. A user links their phone numbers to an address when they create a Celo account. The phone number is then hashed using cryptography and recorded on the blockchain.
